Prayer Flags

Buddhist Prayer Flags are used for protection, to increase wealth, happiness and good fortune. Typically they are in set of five. Each flag has a prayer printed on it and is one of the five colors that represent the five elements. Blue/sky and space. White/air and wind. Red/fire. Green/water. Yellow/earth. The Windhorse or Lungta is often printed on prayer flags. He carries benevolent prayers for all sentient beings through the heavens.

Malas

Prayers Beads (Tibetan rosaries) are traditionally used for Buddhist practice. The tradtional form has 108 beads and is used for counting prayers or for meditation.

Bells and Dorges

The dorje or vajra is a device symbolizing a thunderbolt or diamond. It represents the destruction of all evil and ignorance and itself is indestructible.
